Why did M$ have to screw with the sound

I hope they get all my games working with my Audigy 2 :(

improvement my son, improvement. Dont ask me where or how...

I thought this was supposed to be the "ultimate" gaming OS? If thats the case then why did they take out 3d sound? Dosent make sense to me.

i dont think they wanted to get rid of 3d sound, but wanted to get rid of HAL, which in my opinion will boost stability loooads.

Well isnt that the thing that lets older cards run 3d sound? I dont think i have anything that supports OpenAL right now, and im pretty sure no onboard does. So you HAVE to have an X-Fi to get 3d sound in Vista?

yea vista takes up too mutch ram i could play games full graphics on xp but with vista games stutter

my onboard suround sound works on vista

How have they failed when, to my understanding you haven't used it yet?

Get this straight people. VISTA HASN'T EVEN PUBLICLY LAUNCHED YET. How are they supposed to work out kinks and things formally when it hasn't even been officially released yet? Give it some slack. It has great potential.

Probably cause youngins like you where saying the same thing about ME only cause it was new. Nothings different with Vista, its new. Nothing extremely domanent with Vista currently cause DX10 isnt out yet. Then again please explain to me how my post was negative?

Ok sorry Mike. Just one thing. Youngins? Wow, how old are you? Going by the pic in your profile you're not much older than me.

Anyways, I was too young to have known about ME then, also many people here will agree that Vista is a good operating system and the itnerface is much improved.
Alright, well that didn't help.
