cpu rad fans making buzzing noise

Hi

bought a speed contoller today fitted all my fans to it and now all the apache fans make buzzing noises that quite loud.

Why are they doing this?

What did you buy - some fan controllers are known to introduce a noticeable buzz.

No sorry don't know about that one. The one I was thinking of was the NZXT Sentry 2 which has been known to produce low frequency fan noise.

Do they buzz at all rpms or is it just when slowed down to a certain speed?

I dont know if this is important or not but the apaches are PWM arent they? If the fan controller is just reducing the voltage rather than the pulse width then mabey the fans arent responding in the way they were designed to? You said all your apaches, does that mean you have other fans connected that dont make the noise?

yea the cooler master ones dont make any noises and they make buzzing noises at all rpm is thee another 6 channel fan controller you guys know off thats good and it cant be any bigger than the one i got as half the drive bay its in is taken up by the rad.

This one is meant to be good and its a similar size, havent used it myself though.

Hard to tell if it will exhibit the same problem or not. It sounds like some kind of resonance between the fan controller and the fans so changing may help.

If that doesnt work the only other thing I can think of is to change from apaches to something else, possibly that doesnt use PWM.

Bought 1 sythe gentle typhoon 1850rpm will try that if it doesnt make a noise will get 3 more to replace the apaches
