CPU fan error

Can anybody tell me what happened? I'm running the stock AMD HSF. I got minor artifacting and some scary static sounds (think Satan) over my headset ( Tritton AX720 - great for music). Right after, I scrambled and hit the power button and turned of the system. Is there something wrong with the fan? It works now. I may end up getting a CM Hyper 212+.

I do monitor my temps using Core Temp. It can't really be the graphics card b/c I'm running off of an integrated HD4250. The temps are below 55 on a full load. It also passed 10 runs of Intel Burn Test. Should I do 20?

Well games are going to stress the GPU more than any normal benchmark, so try them.

Could have been something as simple as an audio driver crashing, have you had the problem since?

No. It's been fine (sound and such). It just passed 20 runs of Intel Burn Test. I don't know if it's my overclock or not. I haven't been able to do long term tests @ 4.0GHz with 1.4625V. My stock cooler isn't good enough to run Prime95 with normal ambient temps. It hit 59C under Intel Burn Test and 54-55C under Prime 95 with a 15C ambient temp. I don't want to redline my CPU for too long. Oddly enough, Core Temp says the T j. Max is 70C. Is that correct? I got 62C drilled into my brain. It may be that a driver crashed. The 4250 is at stock clocks too.

I was able to trace the issue to a bad PSU. I already got HWMonitor

. I just like CoreTemp b/c it runs in the system tray.
