I have been playing violent video games ever since I can remember (I'm 16 now) and I am not a violent person. I have morals and can differentiate right from wrong. Now kids who blame their actions on things like video games are just looking for a scapegoat.
Don't ban the games, tighten the restrictions if need be.
I think the parents need to stop putting the blame on everything and anything else but themselves and live up to their name....a parent. Dicipline has gotten so lack over the years. If my dad knew that i had kicked your mate (Davos) and crap, he would have beat the
outa me and i would have missed Power Rangers or w/e was my thing when i did it. I thikn its just rediculous that the parents let their kids do anything they want and when something bad happens they blame a video game THEY bought them. Pretty

What the goverment should do is enforce parenting laws!

I really do wish you could find other words to use then swear words. It really does make a sensible thread look a total mess
kids shouldnt really want to play games like FEAR etc. as even at my age i find them quite disturbing or sick - imagine being brought up on that though, when your mind is still developing?

I know what you mean. There are kids who play games because of gore etc. Which is pretty sickening. The same kids go onto those horrible websites showing people decapitated and mutilated, laughing about it to their friends.
I have known people like that, the ones that say "did you see ... on *.com" showing off about seeing it, but also sending links to it to other people.
I really don't know why people would want to see mutilated bodies or watch someone die, but the ones who do it at such a young age, surely are mentally disturbed?
I also think that games today can't be compared to games of 10+years ago, stuff is getting so realistic now.
I have had a few kids at school try to show me stuff like that - my first reaction was actually shock, i was almost sick at just the thought and it made me want to hunt that website down and get it closed indefinately. It was basically terrorism. Also some ive been told about with incidents of cruelty to animals, which i find extremely offensive that they find it funny...its kids like that tbh

On topic. I agree with PP McGuire for once, in saying that it is most likely the Parents' fault and that they should take responsibility in monitoring what their kids do, how they act, and if the need be get them help. End of discussion.
I've been playing these so called "violent" video games since I was 9. I don't want to kill people. Nothings changed.

Its a dam good idea, but theres alot of people out there who get offended way too easy and we have a reputation to uphold.
