counter strike going to be europe wide banned?

WHATTT! :(

They just don't understand! One idiot to 100000 normal people. Its not like we go out and kill people for fun!

let me tell you a story...

frida night at work (i work at a sports centre) there was a young lad, probably about 10 who was doing judo. He came to talk to me and my mate, and my mate asked him if he could judo roll him. This young lad, after trying to judo roll him (and failing) proceeded to kick the crap outta my mate, genuinely being very violent, and even when we told him it was past a joke, he carried on kicking and punching him, it was quite disturbing, i actually had to drag him away.

games dont make kids violent, mainly because a "spectrum plasma laser extremo gun" is never easy to get hold off. However teaching kids martial arts (kicking and punching) from a very young age DOES make kids more violent.

too many things make kids violent these days, we'd be living in straight jackets if we banned everything.

I blame the parents for a majority of these cases for a majority of reasons, mainly being not enough guidance in the form of dicipline. Where I live, you walk around town and some random kids who you have never seen before will walk up to you and swear/call you something unpleasant or if you are on a bike, try to knock you off

I don't blame games at all! Especially when TV is a lot more graphic yet just as/more accessible

i dont care if the EU bans violent games im from teh uk and tbh when my new rig is built im going to back up teh .GCF files so i can still play source even when it cant be downloaded and bought!

the amount of pathetic laws taht the EU and other contries are trying to pass are bull

! and TBH even the no smoking in public law is bollox they want to charge us £5.50 for a pack of twenty fags and then tell us w cant smoke them in public?

one thigns for sure i wont be going to the poub any more as the reason i go to the pub is to have a BEER and a FAG simple sorry if this has turned into a flame but teh rules and laws that are around now are more pathetic then they were 400 years ago!

I thought the UK was/is part of the EU ??

I'm not sure how I feel on this violent games thing tho. Games are getting more realistic and there are some stupidly gory games out. But there's also games which promote other stuff like taking drugs etc.

I think parents should take notice of age restrictions more. As the kids are under 18, it should be the parents responsibility to enforce the law. But maybe the law should enforce parents? or does that take away free speach etc and mean you are controlling parenting? :)

I don't really agree on banning the games, but something needs to be done to control it more as kids are probably seeing a lot of stuff and copying it. I think a lot plays on the sub-concious tho.

Also I don't really think counterstrike is that bad, altho without the whining 13-18 year old kids, it would be a better game tbh (more respectfull, like online gaming was back in the day 1995-1997)

i think the no smoking law is a good step. It means the non smokers are not forced to passive smoke.

But i do agree that the tax on fags is stupid. But then again, 9/10 are in the uk.

then mayb they should have smoking pubs and non smoking pubs instead of forcing the people that pay the goverment £2.50 a pack of fags to feed and addiction they have allowed from the start, why allow something then change it after they have got half the nation addicted by advertising untill 4 years ago?

Smoke at home :p

I think the smoking ban is good and the latest adverts are brilliant at raising awareness. Us non-smokers have had to breathe in other people's smoke for years :(

I don't think people who smoke realise how bad it really is, also how much they stink.

My mum, dad + step-dad all smoked at one point in their lives. My dad stopped ages ago, but my step-dad stopped after nearly dying from a apse type thing in his throat. My mum stopped after having to have her heart checked and finding her arteries were getting blocked. Also my grandparents smoked and died of lung cancer. :(

Also now my parents don't smoke they actually realise the stink and how repulsive it is.

my nan died at teh age of 36 from lung cancer and breast cancer and she never smoked a fag in her life! so smoke or no smoke theres still the chance of dying from cancer

we have completly off topic aswell here

i think the ban was more for the non smokers than the smokers (ofcourse!).

Anyways, back onto topic. I cant see them banning all violent games. Too many people would rebel. Perhaps do something to reinforce the age restrictions and make sure people abide by them.

It is ridiculous tbh. If they feel the games are influencing kids then tighten up the age restriction policy. If they are going to ban 16+ games then they cannot justify not banning 18+ films - which are far more violent in influential.

Also a lot of the blame, in my eyes, lies with cartoons such as dragonballZ and the likes. The amount of times my little cousins have punched me in the stomach or leg pretending to be someone out of a cartoon is stupid.

Was WWF/WWE for me lol :) we used to always be playfighting pretending to be Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man etc etc ...

Even that has gone OTT in recent years with all the 'extreme' stuff added to it like barbed wire etc :( the most extreme stuff when I watched it was probably one of those bendy chairs or sommit lol

There was a case in America quite a while ago where a boy, emulating what he saw on WWF, tombstoned his 9yr old sister and killed her. Nothing was done to prevent anything like that happening again, so the signs have been there for a long time, just nobody got their ass into gear. So there is a certain factor of negligence on their part that they should consider before handing out bans.

I think that instead of banning games you should make the people who sell them more "enforcers" than they are now. Fine video game shops for selling to underage children and make sure that kids arents are told in no uncertain terms what each game contains. That would certainly make it a whole lot more responsible.

tbh the violent kids needn't go any further than their own front door most of the time to see violence taking place

It's like the bloke who lives next door. He came round my house and said he was going to grab a baseball bat and hit me over the head with it. All because i legally park my car infront of our house and he doesnt like it. Anyways, the point of this little story is he had a little daughter, think whats going through her head. O my daddy does that, so it must be ok to do it.

one word, Muppet!
