Alo. I'm getting my head around how to set up my corsa ssd so please bare with me. I currently have my SATA control mode set to AHCI but should I have anything else set to AHCI in my BIOS? I'm just looking for the best settings that I can have this set to. My Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3.

Cheers.

As long as you have set the sata port where the SSD is plugged in to AHCI before you install the OS, there is nothing more for you to do in the bios. Windows 7 should know its an SSD and set it up properly. The only thing I like to check is that defrag has definitely been disabled, as this can effect the life of your SSD. Other than that all the other tweeks are to squeeze the last drops of performance out of it, which are normally so small I don't bother.

The other thing not to do, is run too many benchmarks, as these themselves can be detrimental to the long term performance. Get a copy of ATTO, run it once to feed your curiosity and make sure everything is OK, and then be happy and bask in your new found performance.
