Corsair Vengeance Memory - Noctua NH-D14 System conflict

Hello,

I'm ordering the components for a system I want to build below:

Intel 2600K

ASUS P8P67 EVO REV 3.0 LGA1155 Intel P67 DDR3 ATX (B3 Stepping)

Noctua NH-D14

Corsair Vengeance 8Gb DDR3 1866

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB

Corsair TX Series 850W

Fractal Design Refine R3

Nvidia GTX 570 EVGA

Samsung 12x BD-ROM/DVDRW

But I'm not sure whether the Corsair Vengeance Ram will get in the way when it is fitted to the ASUS P8P67 Evo board with the Notctua NH-D14 cooling fan heat sink attached to the Intel 2600K on the P8P67.

Is it possible to setup this configuration in the Fractal Design Refine R3?

Any solutions would be gratefully received

Someone said in another thread you can trim the tops of the Vengeance to get them to fit under a D14. I don't know how you do it or if it's easy, I just remember reading it in another thread somewhere on here.

Simple - buy different ram cos it wont fit.

If you remove the heatsinks you void waranty and will still have to find some aftermarket heatsinks.

CPU cooling is much more important. Look for Gskill ripjaw x or the ram I use - mushkin ridgeback from Aria.

Better safe than sorry I suppose.

I can vouch for the Ripjaws I have them myself fitted nicely under my D14

Thanks for the advice, I too think that using RAM specifically designed to operate at normal speed with heat sinks probably won't operate as well with the majority of the heat sink removed, my orginal choice of ram was the Corsair Memory XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 2000Mhz DIMM CL9 1.65V before I saw that the Vengeance was a bit cheaper.

Does anyone have any concerns using XMS3 memory with the Sandy Bridge at 1866MHz?

I will look at the Gskill ripjaw x or the mushkin ridgeback from Aria in the meantime, cheers Tom. I'm just looking for the most cost effective solution for the bang/buck.

see if the heatsinks are detatchable (you never know)

I think taking them off will void your warranty and it isn't supposed to be as easy as taking the tops of the Dom GTs. Honestly I think it is more hassle than it is worth, so I would just get different memory in the first place.
