Corsair launch H70 CPU Cooler

i can not wait for you guys to review this,i hope it beats the top ebd aircoolers,if its a top performer i will be lookin into this

I really dont know if the £77 price tag tickles me!

An improved heatsink plate and a higher quality radiator, Is it enough to top the noctuas air crown?

I doubt we will see massive improvements over the original but corsair are quality and surely not dumb to release a successor which only benefits you by 1-2*c?

the h50 was a massive hit IMO i reckon this will be alot better, especialy for AMD systems

I am going to look heavily in to this option... Conventional cooling loops are a complete PITA when you have to perform maintenance. I'm also no longer running a system worthy of a full custom water loop anyhow (otherwise I would have never sold my Vapochill...). Just need something to keep the CPU cool under some extra volts and 24/7 folding.

Tom,

Are you going to be reviewing one of these soon, and if so can you test it in a case rather than an open test bench?

I'm also interested in seeing this tested

Currently thinking of building my first watercooled system with a custom loop but I like the idea of stuff like this as it seems more self contained.

This is why I've been put off of building a custom loop

seems like a custom loop would be a pain going to LANs also

Only thing with self contained is if the pump breaks, how do you know and also you can't replace parts inside it

Some websites are claiming a 12 degree improvement over the h50 if true then corsair have done it again and we have a new star in the horizon but 77£ well I think that price is going to near a complete water cooled system which you can pick up for 129£ now in the UK.

yer but it wont be very good, plus i no it sounds daft but its not aimed at watercooling more like silent air

seems from what I have been reading about the h70 that it tames AMD cpus very well so you will be able to push your 940 to 3.8GHz easy with temps around 50 degrees.

I have got one here now as it goes

Ill be testing it on the bench though, Corsair want it in a case pulling air in from the back anyways so makes no difference to temps in that respect.

We need to test our coolers in the same way so its fair. Ill try and get something sorted asap for you though.

If the H50 is anything to go by its not going to be silent matey!

I'd be happy to continue "testing" it for you after you're done testing it.

As does the H50. I might even put mine back in here tbh. Either that or get a Mugen 2.

I don't got high hopes for this. Thicker rad = need for higher airflow = more noise. Plus it comes with two fans. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to get a closer look, but I'm not sure if we should expect much.

airflow isnt realy all the problem its static pressure tbh with thicker stuff/thinner gaps, some fans work great for pushing air though gaps others it just acts like a wall, used to have some 30cfm fans that would push way more air out my case than the 55 cfm ones i brought to replace them.
