Title says it all,

I am running an i7 950 on an asus P6T mobo and after 10 mins of prime95 the cpu has already reached 83 celcius :O

Already tried reseating it three times using artic silver 5 ( i know its not the best but thats all i have for now :P) tried also different fan configurations like push/pull as intake and exhaust and also with a single fan as intake only, also tried different fans, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT :(

this is the current setup

Try plugging the pump into a molex...

Shouldnt use fan headers when youve obviously not set the fan to run at full speed....

I just installed the pump in a molex connector and still the cpu reached 80 degrees easily after just 5 mins of prime -.-

Whats the CPU vcore set to? Auto DOESNT mean stock so youll need to manually set that if its nto done already.

First of all, yes it is set on auto as i never managed to understand overclocking till now :| at full load running at 3.2 ghz with 133 core speed x24 multi, cpu-z is showing 1.224v, is it too much for stock?

Thank you for your time tom, really appreciate it :)

is it 3.06Ghz oc'd to 3.2Ghz? as many report 4Ghz before things start to falter
when you say core speed is that the bck? i might be wrong, but hate playing with bck, if so try reducing that to about 110 and add an extra multiplier or 2

i had a crap temps on these H50 coolers before i would stay well clear of them too small rad to overclock much with.

That doesn't sound abnormal for a h50, what is your room temperature?

Room temperature is pretty high as its summer here and we have some of the hottest summers in malta :P i think its in the high 20's low 30's :(

So i started to get wayyyyy better temps as i am currently running the cpu at same speeds and same everything basically but lowered the vcore to 1.05 till now and it is completely stable after 30 mins of prime 95. max temp i have seen till now is 67 degrees but i still believe i can go lower with the vcore :P still didnt find the minimum voltage for it to be stable, tomorrow i'll continue to test :P

For each time you lower your volts, run 10 runs of Intel Burn Test on Maximum. If it passes, continue your vcore decrease until it becomes unstable, then bump it up.
When you find your limit, run Prime 95 for 24 hours to see if it's completely stable, then you should be fine.

I think it is your fans because I was having a similar problem with an H20 620. It was running fine then I changed the fans and was seeing extremely high temp.
I had to switch back to the the other fan and my temps are good again.

thanks, yes i am not keen on keeping the stock fan as im waiting to buy more fans and add/change some fans in my case :) Do you think this is a good choice as i want to keep to the black frame white blades theme and it looks decent enough

Not sure how these will perform on the H50. They seem to be loud fans. I have not used these fans in the past but the specs list them at 22-36 DBA. I am no expert on fans but that seems high to me. The fans I am using on my h20 620 are COOLER MASTER R4-L2S-122B-GP 120mm 4 Blue LED Case Fans. I tested several setups with Noctua, Enermax, Cooler Master, and the stock fans. The COOLER MASTER R4-L2S-122B-GP 120mm 4 Blue LED Case Fan gave me the best noise/performance/price ratio.

the Enermax T.B.SILENCE 120MM Blue LED Twister Fan gave me the worst results.

The Enermax Magma gave a decent result but was loud at full speed.

The Noctua fans performed the best in my test but are very expensive and need those fans for another computer. I was using the NFp12 and NFp14 from my NH-D14.

So, i guess the overheating problem is practically solved as i lowered the vcore down to 1.025v and running perfectly stable :) after an hour of prime95 the max i've seen is 65 celcius which is way better than the 83 i was getting in the beginning.

Next thing is changing the fan to a high static pressure one as i found the stock corsair one is only 0.69. then i might to start looking at some mild overclocking maybe 3.6 or 3.8 ghz :P

Thanks to everyone that contributed :)
