Corsair 600t Rendering beast

Hey guys!

I hope you all had a happy Christmass!

I took my time to build a new rig for a friend. He is going to use it for creative work, mainly doing 3D animation and After Effects rendering. For this you need extreme amounts of RAM and CPU power.

I outfitted this rig with a OSX compatible graphics card so it can do that too (not implying that it can

) .

It has the following specs:

Gigabyte UD3-R (will become an UD5)

Corsair H50 with one Noctua NFP12 set to suck air in. This is a very quiet and yet efficient way of cooling because the fan does not rattle against the fanguard so you won't hear it.

Intel i7 970 at 4.2Ghz

Corsair Dominator GT 12 GB

Spinpoint F103SJ

Corsair CX 430 (it works lovely!)

The front and top fan will be replaced by coolermasters since these are way too noisy and you cannot switch of the leds.

I had a lot of fun building this and keeping the cable management as good as possible.

Once I showed my mate the inside he thought I still needed to reconnect everything, he was quite surprised to see it boot up like that

So far the case keeps really cool and it has been handling the stresstesting very well

. I replaced the TIM on the H50 with XMS3, after it cured the temps never go above 72 degrees which is very cool in my opinion

. Weirdly the cooling performance is the same with the Noctua on the other side set to blow air through the radiator.

Nice and tidy, good job. I really like that case, what brand/model is it? I'm not a fan of the H50, but without a hot graphics card it could do the trick. I know with my 470's and my CPU at anything above 3.5GHz folding 24/7, the H50 can't keep up.

It's the Corsair 600T.

Thanks guys,

The GPU is a Nvidia GT120 Apple card

Like I said 3D graphics performance isn't it's forte, just raw processing power. That is also why I opted for a smaller PSU.

The H50 has been doing a great job so far. Since it is set to intake fresh air out from the back of the case it's temps are really stable. The GT120 produces almost no heat at all.

The case is awesome for cable management. It has a very large space behind it so you can put some serious cables in there.

Looking good!

I do like that case, only wish it was a bit bigger and taller to allow for more eloborate Radiators with push pull config.

Brilliant job on the cable management mate. Looks awesome. In fact, after seeing this I feel a little guilty about my non existent cable management!
