Corsair 540 Air Black & White custom water loop

Can you not get any more out of your i5 though ? Maybe shoot for 4.60GHZ ?

Cheers dude! :)

At the moment I'm happy with the 4.4ghz OC. For what I do with my PC it wouldn't make hardly any difference but when I have a bit more time (trying to finish off decorating my flat for sale) I will try and see what I can get out of it. Im just a bit worried about going too high with the volts :(

Tidy little OC you have there :) and +9999 for the 540 Air case I've always liked these, you've done a real tidy job with this one.

Looks awesome :D But I still don't understand people's obsession with watercooling a case designed for air D:

It was designed to have good airflow which helps greatly in watercooling :)

Also Corsair themselves stated they made this with watercooling in mind ergo the compatibility with 360mm rads.

I guess it was part of the challenge, especially when it came to deciding a location for the reservoir and there's no point in doing what everyone else does, better to do something different :)

Today I'll be messing about with the lighting which finally arrived in the post (they are under-cabinet light for kitchens). I'm going to try and connect them all up into a Phobya fan splitter. Hopefully this will keep it all nice and tidy. Once I have them all in place and soldered together I will play about with putting in fan speed reducers to possibly dim them down a bit because at the mo they are super bright. Another reason for using the Fan Splitter board ;)

More pics later...

Also, I finally have the 90/45 bends on order which I'm hoping arrive very soon. The second 780Ti may be getting bought come payday too...

I might install the fan speed reducer to tone them down a bit. I'll see once I'm finished.

interested in seeing those LEDs in action, looking for a replacement set..

I got them off eBay. £17.99 for 3m. If you're interested I can send you the sellers detils...

This build looks amazing! Nice, simple and clean! My only suggestion would be if you can get a custom made "floor" for the inside of the case, so just it would clean up the look even more.

Cheers dude. Yeah, that's on the list. I'm going to order some black 3mm Perspex that I'm hoping to fit over the base.

Ok... Pretty big update. It's payday and that equals second GPU :) and also a few other modifications. I've decided to try out the solid white tubing to make the white more of a central part of the colour scheme rather than just accents. I've also repositioned the reservoir into the roof which had solved soooo many problems for me, easier to fill the loop with coolant, less visible tubing, more usable space in the rear section of the case and it looks more awesome! I also played about with adding in the Crosschill into my loop (it has temporarily been taken out again tho) and finally, I added in a coolant temperature sensor into the loop.

I took the Crosschill out of the loop as since adding in the second GPU my temps have rocketed (which is was kind of expecting) and I have been messing about trying to see if I can bring the temps down without having to resort to adding in another rad somewhere, which would probably have to be a single 140 in the rear :( or replace the rad in the roof with a thicker rad. I've just ordered a load of new fans to see if that will help. (I have 4 next to new Corsair SP120s PMW Quiet editions for sale if anyone is interested..?). Also as XPSC STILL haven't got any 45 or 90 bends in stock I had to bodge a loop from the CPU up over to the Crosschill which when the warm coolant passed through it, caused it to kink ever so slightly and I wasn't happy with that. It will go back in when I've sorted the coolant temp problems and XSPC have got the bloody parts in stock :(

This is what true beauty looks like. 'Nuff said.
Love the lighting and the red accents on the mobo, it looks ace!

Wow, cheers dude. That means a lot!!

Amazing!! Looks even better with the second GPU. Have you considered rigid tubing? It would be the cherry on the top IMO.

Cheers mate. I did think about it but as it was my first custom loop I wanted to keep is simple to start with. Maybe change it in the future!

Another rig update.

After adding in the second GPU I was having trouble balancing temps/fan speed/noise. After trying many different fan configuration etc I set about trying to find space in the rig to add in another rad. The only feasible option I could come up with was in the back section, mounted in the roof. Airflow out of the case is a little restricted but I'll hopefully get round to cutting a grill in the side panel to allow more exhaust airflow. I did toy with the idea of mounting a rad in the floor under the GPU's but it would have meant changing the front 360 rad to a 280 to allow it to fit. By putting it where I have I get the most rad surface area possible in the case, imo. I also put the front fans into "pull" and fitted as many SP120's in could onto the rear of the front rad in "push" just to help a bit with lowering temps.

I've properly added the crosschill back into the loop. XSPC still haven't got their 90 degree bends in stock so I managed to get some from EK that looked almost identical. XSPC need to sort out their stock issues. It's pretty ridiculous...

Added in a sexy EVGA Pro SLI bridge too. I wish more companies made these because they really finish off the SLI look a lot better than the standard ribbon connectors.

This is most probably the last major update to this rig. I have a few small jobs to get finished but I feel that I've taken this rig as far as I can/want to. It sure has been a lot of fun...
