CoolerMaster MasterCase 5 and Pro 5 Review

The problem being even if they add some of the suggestions Gary makes in the review, there are cases out already cheaper than the base case that have them. to me the base case should at least have room for an AIO in the roof considering that's where most people put it

Your conclusion is very difficult to read. It looks like a brick wall of text.
Try and break it down more with paragraphs.

Thanks for the review Gary. When I first saw show pictures of this case, I thought it had possibilities. Sorry to see that the shortcomings have overwhelmed any possible positives the case might have had.

To me it seems like they tried to make a quality product but it fell victim to the "where can we cut a few cents off of the manufacturing cost" demon. I really wish they had just decided to put out a pro/premium product and followed through with that.

Mmmm I actually quite like this chassis it has potential for my dremel, needs a nip and cut in few areas and paneling inside and out, throw some paint and vinyl into the mix, hit the internals with some nice white LED lighting and we have a deal.

They should have made this a basic chassis with the ability to attach all different panels onto it. Not entirely pleased. Stupid price too.

After all the videos they did of "We put a team of casemodders together and worked for months to create this revolutionary design of a modular case" I really expected a little more than "There's two versions cause you can pick between having a windowed sidepanel or not and having an unfinished roof or not".

What they needed to do was simple, to launch the case with more stuff, or even have the option to pre-order upcoming options.

I keep thinking of AMD releasing 3D models for the R9 Fury X face plate, which allowed people to mod it much easier. Cooler master needed to have done something similar to allow modders to do more faster.

The case itself is very nice, but it is overpriced and really needs more options to justify it.

I don't see why they only allow you to install a 240 in the top. Seems a little limiting for such a big case.

There is only just room for a 360 but it means a fair bit of jiggling and arsing about. 240 was the right size for the top natively

I agree with this. More up front options is always good. There are several companies that I think do it right. CaseLabs is number one. I configured and got exactly the options I want. Some people think that their cases are just boxes; however I disagree. Others that do it right are Parvum, and Hex Gear. I look at what you can do and what you can change with all of those makers, and the creativity flows. With the Mastercase, not so.

To me it seems like they came up with a mindblowing design then remembered they were the company who came up with this.

Besides, how else would you make the cosmos II look reasonably priced? (not that I wouldn't have a cosmos..)

It's a great concept....but still just that. I saw somewhere else that CM are going to add modular front ports (which is a fantastic idea), but that has yet to emerge.
Though this might be why there is a steep markup on the prices. If people can constantly adapt their case every few years then thats a lot of money lost compared to buying a new case over the same period.

If anything it seems less modular than a standard Corsair case. I mean a 750D has a choice of two front panels and you can stick a PSU replacement door on the front instead of a window. Plus if you want it to look totally different (rather than the same with half a roof) you can get a 760T.

And it's still just a riveted steel frame case, I fail to see the revolutionary part. It does look very pretty and well finished for a coolermaster, perhaps they should of just pushed it as a normal mid-range case.

Who am I kidding. I'm just jealous nobody flew me to Taiwan for no apparent reason other than to scrounge some business expenses.

That was my argument...... As for the flown off bit I turned it down and now they are saying the lack of this shit is my fault :p
