Early January Launch for Cooler Master Cosmos II

We got our first glimpse of the next major update of the iconic Cosmos case from Cooler Master, the Cosmos II, in as early as June, as the Computex event was wrapping up. It still had some rough edges, and we were then told that a market launch was expected in the September~October time-frame. That of course, never happened, and the only other time we saw this elusive case was when it was chosen to house the MaximumPC Dream Machine 2011, in July. Alas, even as this year draws to a close, there's no sign of the Cosmos II anywhere. That was, until Cooler Master sent a press and subscriber email last week (dated 10th December), pointing out that the official launch was about 24 days away, or the 3rd of January, 2012. Just in time to hog some CES limelight.

Yup, Komplett is legit. But you already found out ^^

You might think our commercials are weird, but I could argue that it's YOUR commercials that are weird

The price might be a bit higher than what you'll get it for in the UK, due to the difference in VAT. VAT is 25% in Denmark.

At least I believe the VAT is more in Denmark, but correct me if I'm wrong ^^

Lol, I suppose all countries find the others adverts weired.

UK tax is 20% but it also depends on the conversion rate as well, I guess we will have to wait and see what the price will be in the UK when it goes on sale or up for preorder over here.

These pics are from an advert that was in a magazine called Computer Power User, they were pulled from the online digital version but I managed to find a PDF of the original version with the ad.

They may have change a few things or it may look slightly different to what it does in these pics.

That looks... AWESOOOOOOME! Does anyone know if the fan at the back is a 140mm? If it is i am 100% going to buy this case. This thing looks BAWS.

As far as I know you can fit either a 120mm or a 140mm fan in the rear.

Specs based on the pics and other sources are

Support Up to XL-ATX Motherboard based on the 10 Expansion Slots

Rear Support for a 120/140 mm Fan

Front 140mm Fan cooling

Upper HDD Cage which contains space for 5 HDD's with SSD Support

Lower Section of the Case an additional 6 HDD/SSD Bays as well as 2x 120 mm Fans which can intake or exhaust air through the side panel vents

front Part of the Case 3 5.25" Optical Bays and 2 3.5" Hot Swap Bays with a Door that Slides Up & Down to cover them

The I/O contains 4 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0 with internal Header eSATA and Headphone/Mic.

looking at the top control panel it looks like there is a Sliding cover for the I/O Board

The top control panel looks like it is has a fan controller like the one on the Storm Trooper

The PSU bay is removable and dust filtered underneath

Large Cutout for aftermarket CPU Coolers

The mesh on the side panels and front panel look like they are removable dustfiltered

I'm guessing there is 360mm rad support in the roof because it says it supports 10 fans, thats 2 in the front, 2 in the lower section, 1 in the rear, 3 up top and posibly 2 on the other side of the bottom HDD section.

Also, if the bottom HDD cages are removable, hopefully there is room for a 240mm rad.

Should be enough room, it takes a XL-ATX motherboard so size wise it should be similar to the HAF X. The sectioned off bottom part does make it seem smaller but if you look at the second pic where it shows the 4 cards in SLI there is still loads of room to the right and you still have the optical bays to put your pump in or fit a drivebay res and pump combo.

If you are using a normal ATX mobo i'd say there should be plenty of room for watercooling, especially if the bottom HDD cages are removable you should be able to fit a pump and a 240 rad in there.

Coolmister is already working on moding one so we should get a good look at what options there is when we see it but he can't post any pics until Cooler Master give him the nod, looking forward to seeing what he has come up with though.

Yeah, not being able to show a work log or comment on your findings isn’t the best situation to be in but you’re doing a fine job there on your own SieB especially just going off a few pictures.
