cooler for phenom 965 ?

I need a new cooler for my 965 as the stock one is just horrid. i have the 990fxa ud3 with the corsiar vengance high profile memory. I have seen the A50 and would it work having the fan the other side sucking air through. Is there somthing better that will fit with my ram?. And its needs to be around the £40 and below mark . Can anyone help

Just had a look at it but i have allso seen the zalman cnps9900 max ive read a couple of reviews and it performs well and i think it will be ok with my ram

better off with the cm 212, noctua nh-d14 or the nzxt havik 140.
much better than the zalman and will go further into the future should you change your mobo

Only the 212 will fit, as the OP says, he has tall-profile RAM

I have the same CPU, MoBo and the Hyper 212 Plus and it won't give you clearance for those Vengeance unless you move the fan a bit upwards, around 1 cm.

I did a build for a friend with an AMD FX and ASRock 990fx mobo. He had an scythe mugen 3 for it and the ram clearance was fine. all slots where free.

What about the bequiet! Dark Rock Advanced? Would probably need the fan on the other side but is also worth a shout.

I used to have a 965, with a CM 212. Tbh, you don't need to spend a load on a cooler for it.

On mine, I was reaching the limits of the overclock before reaching the thermal limits of the chip. Just save some money and get something cheap and quiet.

agree with james, used to have a 965 with a Scythe Mugen 2 never ever saw my temps above 52c OCed to 4.2 would a be quiet shadow rock or thermalright archon be any use?
