compy still lplaying up after i spent 240 on it

no it wasnt because the icon on which you click is not highlited so i couldnt click on it, but it was using the full 100% of the cpu
 
It's passworded to make you read readme. The password is 6789 or 9876. Get that fixed and you'll see errors in no time.
 
yeah me to, anyway computer is running fucking slow at the moment since i set priority to 10 and it hasnt crashed yet and its been going for about 1 and a half hours

how long before it desids to give in and crash i wonder

You need to run 24 hours to be sure. Yeah, you won't be able to use it for those 24 hours.
 
okk thats fair enough, what should i expect at the end of the 24 hours? like when it finishes will there be a summary of the stress
 
If it's still running after 24 hours without any report of errors, then stop it, you're good. 24 hours is just the suggested time to run it. Some people do 48 hours, that's pretty excessive.

I'm not sure if it will, since you crashed with folding, and that's all cpu. If prime95 does make it, you'll have to loop 3dmark. Beyond that point, it would have a motherboard problem.
 
ill be fucking heeps pissed off if its the motherboard

i was also thinking how could it be the motherboard if i can run prime95 fine andwhen i fold it screws up? how is this so :mad:
 
Folding only uses cpu/mem. If folding crashes your computer, prime95 should definitely fail. If it doesn't, the only thing I can think of is motherboard. If it does fail, you should run a separate memory test on prime95 or memtest86 to make sure your memory's not fucked up. Weren't you having a video problem too?
 
the video problem was i first thought it was the vid card because when i played games it crashed but when i started folding it crashed as well.... when prime finishes later one and i do 3dmark.... and if it is allright as well what is a good A socket motherboard that i should get if all else fails
 
Make sure to do a memory test too. Your 400W psu will work if it has a good +12V rail with 17-22A. What price range do you want if you need a new board.
