Hi i need advice on new speakers. I haven't upgraded mine in just over 6 years now, I got a pair of 5.1 logitech surround sound, they still go fine, but since I've been upgrading my other peripherals since I've had them for longer I thought it's time for a upgrade. I'm in nz, and i guess I wouldn't mind spending $200-300 for something decent.

Theese are the sites i use mainly:
pricespy.co.nz -= Just shows the prices of all sites and helps you find the cheapest
pcforce.co.nz
playtech.co.nz
pbtech.co.nz
http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/

Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

We will give you product names but youll have to research your own prices once you give us more details.

I think I will go with 2.1 this time, I haven't really got anywhere to set up a surround sound properly. I'm not too informed on speakers so thats why I'm asking here. I would like something with some more bass, a bit more oomph. I have to turn my current one half way up before I can really hear anything.

If you're a bit strapped for cash, might want to have a look at Microlab FC360. Does the job beautifully.

Take a look at the Corsair SP2500 or Klipsch Promedia 2.1.

Do not buy the Klipsch, the satellites really have to fight against the sub also they have massive interference issues.

Bookshelf type speakers have always served me well, for general computer speaker use without the use of an audio interface I'd try for anything edifier or microlab.

I currently use the Edifier R1900's for everyday use and they're fantastic.

I've never heard such a thing occur, and have only seen positive reviews for them.

Obviously if you have peripherals/hardware or wifi running on 2.4GHz then you need to be careful, but again, that's more of an exception than a sign of a bad product.

You wont believe me when i say this but I've had and returned the 2.1's 3 times to amazon due to these issues, the sub is way to meaty and the satellites produce loud white noise.

Huh, go figure. I've never heard or owned one for myself, so I can't argue with user experience. Reviews are usually pretty good. Perhaps it's just a popular choice for people that really don't know much about audio fidelity.

I've had a set of Klipsch Promedia 2.1 for 3 years and never had those issues.
But I don't blast them full volume or full bass .
