Comp - F*CKED :(.

Couldnt be too much pressure being applied to the mobo from the Noctua cooler could it?

I've had cases before where I've overtightened waterblocks and it does exactly what you mentioned.

Hmmm that would be one weak motherboard then. The Noctua gives a very clear sign that the screws have been tightened sufficiently. My brother, me, and SwaleSmith went to this point without problems.

Would be a good idea to untighten them a bit though, just to be sure.

Good idea, thanks for mentioning it :).

Great cooler, I must say. Comp booted up just fine today, could of been so many things doing this :D.

Max temp full load = 48 on 1 core, CPUTIN @ 4c

Ran burn in, ETQW full settings, and some scan thing in the back :D. Will be overclocking this later :D, any tips on getting it to 3.6ghz?

Q6600

FSB and volts?

Oh yes the mounting is very good it stops at just the right tension and cannot be tightened further very idiot proof for people like me LOL :D can't see anyone over tightning with the noctua, unless he really overtightened the backplate. even then i'd doubt to be honest

Indeed I would of been very stupid to do so tbh, but I don't class myself as the non-stupid type lol.

Never tightened too much, was just a bite against mobo and so the bars were secure.

LOL Me to I managed it ok so it must be fine :D

:D Just made me laugh... Would have had a proper laugh but I gotta be quiet as a certain female next to me is nursing a hangover in bed.

I had that with my Enermax once, it killed 5 motherboards... you almost felt like going "M-M-M-Monster Kill!" when you knew that the motherboard had bit the dust...
