Comp - F*CKED :(.

OMG, just had the worst day ever!!!!!....

I got my new Noctua yesterday, I fitted it and never turned on comp. I did everything perfect, the right amount of thermal paste for the first time ever (claps).

Turned on today, the powersupply kept restarting every 0.5secs... then turned off... pushed button again and nothing... turned off power.... turned back on.... the comp started, no input on monitor, then turned off..... restarted automatically. Stayed on, no beep no nothing. I cleared the cmos, battery and jumping with pins... Nothing.

Took out gfx, the comp did the same, memory etc... I checked the mobo nothing... CPU... nothing... tried starting up comp same with just mobo cpu and obv PSU. I have no fckin idea what this problem is, sounded to me like a crazy mobo and/or PSU, but im booted up now fine, and hasnt done anything since :/... why would it power up now if the mobo was fcked or psu?;o... i jumped the bios again and it has booted up, i have restarted a couple of times and it's fine.

Just gonna update the BIOS or reflash with the current version, I think my bios is a bit nakered.

Anyone care share any feelings/answers?;D.

Sorry for grammar and such, too annoyed :(.

The weird thing was, when I took the whole components out of comp it seemed to post and boot. Placed back in case and NOTHING....

Short maybe?

could be, i'd check to make sure all the spacers are there underneath the motherboard and make sure there aligned.

EZ cool?

I heard they do bad PSUs.

Someone confirm for me.

I confirm for you, although it seems to be better than Hyper 580 :D.

Was just weird considering all I did was replace the heatsink and BOOOM :(.

Will be getting new one soon(ish), so hopefully this is it, but why after jumping the BIOS it seemed to boot?

i still think your idea of shorting is your best bet. Maybe moving something when fitting the heatsink.

I am nearly certain it was shortening... BUT it also didn't boot once or twice out of case, but seemed to remedy the issue for a long time. I have flashed/updated/reset the BIOS now, seems to be running PERFECT.

I noticed upon inspection that the things underneath attached the mobo tray were placed in a different location than last time .... (dunno how), but I continued anyway. Maybe underneath where the solder is had shortened the board.

It stopped fluctuating?

Sometimes it would, sometimes it would start.... 5secs later... turn off.... 5 secs later turns back on.

Seems like a shorten, was really weird, IMPOSSIBLE infact to dim down problems, seemed every item was busteddd:(

I had that with my Enermax once, it killed 5 motherboards... you almost felt like going "M-M-M-Monster Kill!" when you knew that the motherboard had bit the dust... no idea why it done it, but just be on the look out, I still don't know what happened to mine, all I do know is 2 M2N SLi Delux's and 2 Crosshair's are in silicon heaven. Bloody expensive as well...
