colour change for noctua fans

I would like to see a guide on this, I can figure the dye part out I just need to know how to safely remove the motor from the fan and put it back together without messing it up. A full guide would be good for people who don't know how to do the dye part though.

You can get the Noctua fans from near enough any online retailer that sells PC parts you might even be able to find a cheap second hand one on Ebay.

if the motor cannot be removed safely. then the best thing to do IS to stick a ballon around the motor and cabble tie it on there. making it watertight.

I'll have a good look at one of my Noctua fans off my D14 tomorrow and see if I can work out how to dismantle it safely but if I can't see a safe way of doing it i'll look into the balloon method, thanks.

I think I safely removed the motor (it's in one piece) it was held in by superglue and I just wiggled it and it cam of clean

But I'm having trouble with the dye, I had some rit dye laying around, heated water, Put in a bowl, put dye in, stuck the fan in, 20 min later no colour change :s

When I look closely the dye can't seem to attach itself

Any suggestions I'm starting to think this fan is like waterproof or something ?

ITS WORKING
biggrin.gif
the fan frame has absorbed the blue die well but the blades have gone violet :/ still waiting on them

Will take photos soon

Btw the reason the dye didn't stik before was because the water was getting colder duh

Chucked it all in a pot

working well

this is what i got, the frame of the fan looks good but the blades just went dark purpley so, i would still consider this as a success, ofcourse thats when i put it back together, waiting on the superglue but once i do it and it works a guide will be made

This is good for all the people who don't like the color of the fans or people who would like to change the color of them. I would go for all black my self or maybe white for the frame (if there is white dye) and black for the fan.

Good work Firat

tbh i dont think white dye would work but yh its a good result im really happy with it, and suprisingly the motor was fairly easy to take of.
