I've had a decent week at college- first I got my report (All good except overworking 
) then I discovered a way around the really restrictive college firewall...
I put a Kubuntu live CD in the pc, boot it up, and surf
As I'm not logging in to the network, and the connection is automatic with DHCP, the firewall isn't active on the connection. I originally loaded it up to see if netlab worked in Konqueror (it did) and then decided to surf for a bit... and tried a banned site... and I got on.
Next week- my tutor is going to help me get Samba working so I can access my files on the network
