had a word with these =OHO= guys and warned them to stop treating the server as if it was their own,i spoke to =OHO=ACE and he said he will tell his clanmates to behave on our servers in future,but we will see what happens
 
Theres one more clan who use it as it was their own server.. I dont remember their name atm but you can see them in one of the demo's I linked in the cheater-thread. They join the server and tell me to change team "or bann!"

Glad I'm not the only person having problems with these guys. I went on server #2 the other day and before I could even spawn I was votekicked.

Nothing that a nip into the server console and a few tempban commands didn't fix tho...

If they cause even so much as a smidgen of trouble, ban each and every one of them.

i havent met them yet thank god

in my opinion, if we wait for them to attempt to take over/ban/use as their own just ban em
 
Are we talking PB ban or server ban? HAsh codes should be print screened prior just in case they change their names?
 
Thats what I thought, I also think we should get the guys who frequent it often to speak english, they use it as a serbian chat room, I am sure they are chatting girls up half the time lol.
 
how about "we should stop slacking", "we should turn off HC", "we should turn off 10 sec wait on death", "we should turn on voting or turn on PB" on #2? Nothing happens =(
 
The thing is mate, ultimately this isnt a pure gaming community, in fact its only a small portion a gaming "clan". Everything server orientated has to pretty much be agreed with by Jim, if not actually changed by Jim (due to actual config restrictions, access to server etc.) plus he basically owns the server (with the rest of oc3d staff..) so anything going has to be agreed with by them!

Jim and the crew are busy people, and although we do try to prod them as much as possible to get things done, their business/jobs ultimately comes first and gaming would be alot lower on the agenda. Im sure he will be able to sort something soon :)
 
@frakt, although you have had some good input the server is not purely so you can have the settings you and your mates like. It is paid for by OC3D and needs to do well in the rankings. We want to advertise it so it attracts people as there are plenty of ordinary servers out there, the more skillful like HC, I agree with the 10 sec wait it should be 3-5 seconds.

The no PB attracts alot of people unfortunately some of the wrong type - like synteco who was blatantly cheating and emptied the server - I caught the tail end of some chat, and then had a chat with him about cheating he admitted it then left. I did Screeny his hash though so if you need it Jim let me know.

As you can see, you have got all admins moitoring more regularly and this can only be a good thing, and i am sure the server will be what you enjoy in the future just give it time.
 
Respawn wait has been changed to 3 seconds on Server #2 lads. it was set to 0 in the config, but apparently that means 10 in the land of CoD...go figure :rolleyes:

Server #1 is in the top 100 on game tracker - it used to be in the top 10, but as soon as PB was enabled it took a nosedive. It'd be nice to get #2 anywhere near to top 50-100. It really took a massive hit after PB was enabled. If anyone has any ideas to turn the rank around fast (mods, settings etc) I'll be willing to give it a try.
 
altho i do believe that any mod/unofficial settings will make it unranked?

perhaps advertise #2 on the #1 server? make #2 different as in, diff maps/gametypes?

Yeah it would. I'm guessing that would reduce the appeal of the server, but it would also allow us to change it so that all players receive a weapon menu and can pick whatever guns they want to use (good/bad?)

Advertising is a good idea, but we ideally need to find an application that can do it server-side rather than relying on modernrcon
 
Sorry for my a-bit-offensive-post but thanks for replying and changing respawn time!

I have not fully understood the PB issue. Punkbuster stops like 99% of all cheaters, and a few people with corrupted game files for other reasons. Why does the server lose all players? I've seen people playing on oc3d without a real key when PB is on. That can't be the issue.

And if PB did stop people without valid key from playing, is there no other anti-cheat software that does only that?
 
pb has its own problems which put people off,it sometimes bans the wrong key, it has serious memory leakage issues(tbh pb is bloody unstable)
 
I played a few rounds this afternoon, and if I AM HONEST THOROUGHLY ENJOYED them even if it was a bit empty. New maps are good (cos they are not on every server) and that might bring people in once word gets round, I say give it a week to suck and see now.
