Hi guys,
I though I'd share my current build with the forum now I've got most of the parts in there. It's my first scratch build for over 10 years so it's good to get back to building rather than just upgrading cheap systems.
Anyway onto the pictures, some of them are from my phone so bare with the low quality.
Day 1, fresh out of the box. It's the one from ebuyer with the 600w PSU and more importantly for me the windowed side panel.
As you can probably tell it also has the ugly white section under the top mesh, that had to go. Luckily I had some spare black carbon wrap laying around.
Much better, you can't really see the carbon but most importantly you can't see the white. The white bracing on the bottom section still shows but that's not as bad as the top. I may paint that in the future.
Next up it was time to address the ugly vent in window (does anyone actually use those?)
It's amazing what a difference it makes.
Now that the case was looking how I wanted it it was time to start on the inside. I'd decided I wanted it to look as clean as I could get it with whire and blue being the dominant colours so I tried my hand at braiding the cables. It was my first time doing it but I don't think it turned out too badly.
I just wish I could have figured out how to braid that USB3 cable.
Time to get the hardware installed. This is only an interim set up to get the rig running, I couldn't wait any longer so it's all air cooled and I still have quite a bit I want to change.
The one thing that strikes me now is how much black is in there now. I'll be sorting that soon enough though.
Here's a pic with the side on.
Finally here's the marmite "mod" sticker bombing the side panel.
I ran out of stickers before I got the top left done
Still to come on the parts list is an XSPC raystorm kit (I'm not sure which rad to go with though, any advice would be welcomed) with mayhems pastel blue coolant, white bitfenix braided cables, white LED strips and some new ram as I just have some cheap stuff in there atm to get the rig running. I'm also thinking about wrapping the PSU in white carbon to cut down on the black inside the case. I'll most likely swap out the fans at some point too.
