Hi Guys..

I've just setup my new case, the CM Storm Enforcer yesterday.

I would like to know how would I go about connecting the front USB3.0 to my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (Rev. 2)

The front panel USB 3 header and the connector and the board do not match. Is there a converter of some kind I need to get?

Thnx.

those on the mobo are usb2.0 not 3.0 ur mobo is probably pre usb 3.0 header support. as I see a floppy or ide connector there at the bottom I am pretty certain the standard for usb 3.0 headers came out after ur mobo was made

to explain further

Rear Panel PortsPS/22

USB 1.1/2.04 x USB 2.0

USB 3.02 x USB 3.0

IEEE 13942 x IEEE 1394a

eSATA2 x eSATA/USB Combo connectors

S/PDIF Out1 x Optical, 1 x Coaxial

Audio Ports6 Ports

Internal I/O ConnectorsOnboard

USB4 x USB 2.0

Onboard 13941 x 1394a

see here no usb3.0 onboard

you'll have to see if they make a header to usb 3.0 cable connector to pass out the back of the case or if 3.0 isnt needed I beleive they make a connector to make those usable as 2.0

If you get confused by the fact that it says 'USB3' it just means it is the motherboards thirds USB 2.0 connecter

No, not confused by that, they labeled 1, 2 3, lol!

hmmm.. so the only way then is to connect to the back USB 3.0 ports.. or upgrade my mobo.. suxx then

I thought there was an adapter of some kind i could have used..

Thanks for the replies guys..

Im having the same problem. Im not confused or anything but I cant find anywhere that sells the right converter cable. Some case venders are including them as I have seen them on the tube. It is a adapter that converts the 20pin usb 3 mb connector to a usb2 mb connector. If anyone has seen them anywhere or has one they want to sell please let me know.
