Club 3D HD 7950 RK, lower voltages, higher temps!?

Hey all,

Recently I've been messing around with the overclocks on my Club 3D HD 7950 Royal King, using MSI Afterburner.

I thought I'd won the "silicon lottery", because I could run the 1920x1080 w/ 8x MSAA stress test on MSI Kombuster, with stock voltages, but max. core/memory clocks! The temps would fluxuate between 59-69 degrees, with the fans on auto (54%)

But then I decided to play some Far cry 3. Then I could hear the fans spin up to about the maximum, so exited the game. And when I opened MSI Afterburner, my GPU hit a max. temp. of 94 dergees!

I then compared my card to the one of a friend of mine. Also a Club 3D HD 7950 Royal King.

We decided to both run MSI Kombuster at 1920x1080 w/ 8x MSAA, and here are the results we could run without crashing.

My maximum settings:
Core voltage: 1125 (stock)
Memory voltage: 1600 (stock)
Power limit: 20% (max)
Core clock: 1200 (max)
Memory clock: 1575 (max)
Fanspeed: 53-54 on auto

His maximum settings:
Core voltage: 1150 (+25)
Memory voltage: 1600 (same)
Power limit: 20% (same)
Core clock: 1150 (-50)
Memory clock: 1475 (-100)
Fanspeed: 53-54 on auto

Temperatures:
Mine: 69 max
His: 53 max

Round up:

I have lower voltage and higher clocks, but also higher temperatures at the same fan speed!??

And hints as to what it can be?
