all thsi new tech is annoying for msot people though because the choices are so split on what to buy

Worth going amd atm for 2 of these things? nah.. nto until they sort the phenom problem out. Once they go to 45nm I think itll be worthwhile, then again these things probably wont be top dog at that point.

Exactly, why put xfire on cards that arent top tier

Hopefully the 9800GX2 launch will bring its performance above that of the ati card, then itll nudge the price of 8800GT down a noche or 2.

Also, this crossfirex thing, I thought it was just using AFR insterad of w.e tehy were using. Im assuming this setup does that? So this card kinda should get a better scaling % then using 2x 3870 on say an X38, right? If assuming crossifrex is any good

With no hard evidence, the 9800GX2 is being criticised for being... Crap. The dual pcb design, the strange cooler design... 'Won't be as good as GT's in SLi'...

The X2 has the onboard chip to handle the traffic between the cores, it actually performs better than two 3870's in CF... Here

I might get one for the craic but that would mean taking apart my loop, selling the GT and parting with some money.

I want to see the X2 tested in DX9 and 10 (as many games as possible, obviously the newer/more taxing the better) with pci-e 1.0 and 2.0 on high res with candy on full against GT, GT/GTS/GTX/Ultra single/sli...
