FEAR said:Whats good for cleaning a cpu and heatsink, that wont cause any damage. Ive heard of isopropyl alcohol, but having trouble trying to get hold of some. Is there anything around the house I could use? tried and tested please.
Thanks

go to a local Pharmacy and get Injection Wipes (if they ask say u r diabetic) it only takes 2-3 to clean a CPU / heatsink Surface and it cost ~£3 for a box of 100 ... they contian 'rubbing'/Isoproyl Alcohol of @ least 70% conc. so are perfect.
In the UK u can get them by the brand name 'Sterets'

FEAR said:Hey thanks
There is a pharmacy about 200 meters from my house, Ill go down there tomorrow and have a look round. So anything that contains 'rubbing'/Isoproyl Alcohol of @ least 70% should do the job. Ill ask for injection wipes. Someone also said that sometimes pharmacys have Isoproyl Alcohol 91%.
