chudley AMD Overclocking Log

Plenty to update as I have been fiddling all weekend.

First off a CPUz max of 4707Mhz

CPUz Validator

PCmark04 best I could manage after a lot of tries was 11050, I will come back to this at some stage and see if I can beat it.

Tuesday I ran prime 95 at the setting I have been folding on for the last couple of days. I have n oidea what the temps were at but it ran ok.

I also managed to get a vantage run done, that program is really strange as I needed to patch to 1.2 then it would not accept my trial key, any way a bit more fiddling and I got a score of 8400.

Again, I had not pushed the CPU any higher than what it has been very stable at of 4.2Ghz.

Really impressed with the effort you have put in Chudley, especially as you were one of the group who was relatively new to clocking and benching.

Kudos.

Thanks Tom, Sorry to those who have been following but I have been away for a short while (comes with my job). I am back tonight but away for weekend so will try and get a couple of tests finished at the very steady clock speed of 4.2 with quite a high ambient temp. Next week I will dig in some more to improve my scores.

Configuring SiSoft Sandra Lite.

Chudley, before I begin, the Sandra version I downloaded from the HWbot link wouldn’t install on my machine.

I downloaded the latest version, which is linked to from the Sisoft website.

The version I have is Sandra Lite 2011.SP3 (17.64)

Unfortunately I only know how to do this from a fresh install of Sandra.

If anyone can tell me how to enable this after first disabling it on a fresh install, I’d be grateful.

When Sandra first starts you get the Tip of the Day screen, click on the module options tab.

You don’t need either of these so uncheck them and click the green tick.

The first time you run a benchmark you get the Customise Rank Engine screen.

You don’t need to download pics if available, if you’ve optimised your system before the bench run, the network will be switched off anyway. Uncheck it.

Just tick the accept t&c’s box and the green tick.

Next is the Customise Price Engines screen.

You don’t need this enabled. As above, you won’t be on the net anyway.

Just uncheck the enable box, accept the t&c’s and click the tick.

“Click the tick”. What kind of a phrase is that to use.

Anyway, now when it starts up every time, you will have other processors to compare with.

Hope it helps. Like I said before, if anyone knows how to do this after install, let me know.

It’s probably really easy to do, I’m too daft to see it.

cheers Twin. I found the option required (ranking( under teh options at the bottom "customize rank engines" Will give it a try today.

Thought I should at least post some of my efforts although the weather is playing with what I can achieve.

Hmm, not able to post as it seems that sqish is down, and I have just noticed there 2 thunder flies behind my screen! how did they get in there?

hwbot, but forgot to rank

Here is a quick update on what I have so far.

I still want to improve on these scores as I think its only fair, especially now the weather is not so hot, and yes I have the bug for it as well.
