Choice of RAM

Is that ECC memory or something or why is it so expensive? That motherboard only accept very specific RAM or what?

It's Registered/ECC Memory which lets me buy the 4 kits (total 128gb) RAM I need to - due to how I am setting it up.

So thats also why Corsair is no good to me in this case.

I'm really just looking for whats the difference between the two.

Yes 128GB - video editing and Virtual Servers

Anyway - are we not getting sidetracked from what is the difference between the two?

I think CT2K16G3ERSLD41339 is normal sized whereas CT2K16G3ERVLD41339 is low-profile, but I don't think that's why there's a $440 difference.

Have you tried contacting crucial on their live-support or through email to get any answers, because that may be your best bet.

Contacting them now :)

Shannon : CT2K16G3ERVLD41339 is a Very Low Profile part that uses different printed curcuit boards and chips to make up the memory.

So the huge price diff comes down to low profile.

Shannon : CT2K16G3ERVLD41339 is about .75 of an inch.
Shannon : CT2K16G3ERSLD41339 is about 1.2 inches high.

Wow, I didn't think the extra ~$440 would be due to size difference. Anyway, glad to be of help, and for your sake I hope you don't need the low profile version

hmm should be fine i would of thought, it's not exactly huge

Sorry - It'd been a while since I'd looked at the RAM again :)

The 'tall' one isn't exactly high profile anyway, it's standard - which is fine for the bequiet.

Not sure of the point whatsoever now in getting the ultra low profile version...
