Hi, i was wandering if anyone had any recomendations of a cheep laptop that is farly fast as i wish to use it for mixing at discos. I wish to spend around the £300 mark. Thanks fusion.

firstly, birds go cheep

and if you want to get a laptop that cheap, you will probably have to hit ebay, or sometimes there are medion refurbished laptops that go for that sort of price.

cheep cheep lol.

Yea I don't think there is much to seperate laptops at that price other than the processor and ram. I don't know anything about mobile processors so which should he aim for? AMD? Intel? What model?

As new, laptops at that price are the ole- good enough for student stuff, sorta thing, Word/exel - forget any illusions of gaming above rts.

Dell bang some out for £299, in this sorta class.

Acer laptops are very good, imo of course (cos I got 2 - zero problems in 2 years lol), however thier ones worth their meat `new` are £500++.

In the 2nd hand variety, u could probably pick up the ones I bought for £600+ a few years ago, floating around ebay in great numbers I`d imagine.

What kind of performance do u need for this `mixing` ??

Im part of the group, its just running a program called dj mix pro (quite basic but our current pentium 3 machine - piked from school doesnt really like pausing, stopping and adding new tracks while playing others). Basically we need to be able to add tracks while the others are mixing without slow down (or jittering in the playback lol, like last time >.<)

Probably only need a average amount of ram, good cpu and a kick ass hdd. Onboard gfx ftw
