Relating to my 'Cheap stuff needed' thread. Im building up a PC for a mate of mine which above all else needs to be cheap. Here's what ive come up with so far:

AMD Sempron 2800 (SktA) (clocked up a little, obviously:d) (microdirect)

Speeze V shaped cooler (Llwyds spear)

MSI K7880 delta (Also Llwyds spear)

512MB (2x256) (from our own jiffz)

Geforce FX5700 (mine spear)

Casecom KL-201 ATX Midi Tower (AKA cheapest case EVER)

Western Digital Caviar 80GB 7200RPM ATA/100 2MB (ebuyer)

Logitech S200 2.1 Speakers (ebuyer)

Golden Field 420W PSU (from tec)

SB Blaster Live (also from tec)

CD RW drive (also also from tec)

Stardard KB+mouse (me spear)

Im aware theres no monitor. Thats not been resloved yet. Its costing around £200 i think.

This rig is going to be used mostly for music, internet and a smigin of CS:S and as far as i know it should be fine, right?

I know that the graphics card is weak, but hes used to a MX420 and I used the Fx myself so i know its fairly capable.

Improvments/advice/criticism/flames?

Just change the support to 1year support

IMHO that can't be beaten at the moment for price

when it comes to cheapness dell are the best:p

well just about any manufacturer of pc's really:flames:

still that is a pretty decent lil pc for the price ;)

Haha, Thats a great idea in theory kemp. But theres no way in hell we can afford £400. Hes 18, has a car to run, still in school and as far as i know dosn't work much and ill be damed if i have any money left. This system is looking at around £160 atm, so about £200 inc a fairly decent little CRT (ebay probs).

Also I would like to actualy build it myself. Aside from the fun:), It means i know exactly whats in there, Ive set up the OS myself so i know the config well. If we buy in a whole one, when somthing goes wrong I have to go through the horrid process of find everything about the system.
