Cheap Motherboard/Cpu combo?

Anyone know of a decent cheap combo of cpu/mobo? I am looking for something for a parent and it does not matter to them if it is Intel or Amd as they just play some games like MMO's and such so at least 1x 16x pci express is required.

Hmm could you define cheap please? Some people find €150 cheap, others €600...

The only combo deal I can find around $150 is this one: *clickie*. I haven't really looked into the motherboard, but it looks like some good features... 3.0gHz dualcore, 2x PCI-e x16, 6x s-ATA... Just all sounds like a healthy uATX setup.

Of course the board has a lot of cons, but I do not think you could get much better with such a budget.

Thanks a lot,will bookmark that one for now and look around a little more..So tough to decide with such a little budget at the moment. All the other x-mas presents took up everything

I think an Asus P5Q series motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU would be more than sufficient to meet your needs. (I'm not sure which models atm, but it's a start)

You could also consider a Gigabyte P45 motherboard.

wait wait wait. We're on a $150 budget here remember. The P5Q alone already costs you 150 bucks, let alone the mobo cpu combination :|
