Alternative method, this works for me in XP SP3, so hopefully in WinVista and Win7.
Download from my site, and extract the DRIVERS folder to the desktop.
DOWNLOAD HERE
Double click setup.exe (the mouse icon), you should see your mouse listed, down the bottom left of the window select 'Filter On Device' and then change the polling rate to what you want. Then you click 'Install Service'. You should then click the restart button and then restart your computer. Worked for me.
