greetings new forum members,
ive been lurking somewhat and have now been bitten by the infectious hi-performance PC bug. i was contimplating case ripping a CM 912 by modifing, welding, and customizing that frame, but, i can scored a CM 690 (not II or advanced) from CM direct @ $40. fine lines, bigger area and looks awesome frontally.
my needs are: graphics, gaming, and wow factor. case height restriction is 21.0 inches MAX.
going i7-2500k and would like 3.9-4.5MHz constant. for this a water cooling effort is needed. ive seen reviews of 300-500watts of generated heat in such needs.
ive seen toms thoughts on a front loaded rad and with these requirement itll look like a 360 rad, massive liquid movement, and large supply would be needed? obviously the 360 would have to go into the roof and possible 240 on the floor or case front. could someone recommend some possibilties...
cpu block - RAZA
res - volume?
pump - ?
monitoring - aquacomputer 5pro
the other liability is rad/fan combinations. fan noise isnt really an issue, but the rad technology seems to improve with each release of products. i am familiar with cooling capabilities in the automotive realms and cubic inch displacement/horsepower/heat energy, but this in minature has me puzzled. so some proven suggestions would be gratfully considered.
ive researched fan pressure v volume v fin count and by position there arent many ideas of rads other than heater core designs. granted materials of re-tooling can be expensive (passed on to the end-user) but our tubing in the rads and blocks are too thick for a maximum effect arent they?
gotta be a "scale" dimension in the performance output vs off-the-shelf. anyway, 180hours of research and im still baffled so please set me in a path to correct water cooling.
