HI :D.

Never ever built a PC before, except a really old one for A-level IT some 3 years ago, which as you might expect never featured the likes of PCI-e, SATA II and tool-less cases etc.

I'm looking for a case to house the above components, for under £60.

I am thus far stuck in a viscious cycle between Cost Vs. Aesthetics Vs. Cooling Vs. Silence Vs. Size and need your overruling verdict on the best case for me :).

I know its preference, but there must be a winner, right?

I've been looking at the:

Lian Li PC A07B

Giabyte iSolo

Cooler Master Centurion 5

AeroCool I-Curve

Antec Solo

Big list, i know. let me know what u think.

That one is £70 inc VAT.

Not sure if you knew or not as your max price says £60.

Well I'm sure I could compensate for £10 if the case was worth it..

And also - a stupid question - but I also love the look/size of the mATX cases. They're really nice. My question is - can you run a 3870 and Q6600 in one of those smaller cases?

the micro atx cases dont really have the cooling needed unless modified to keep a Q6600 cool, and they require a micro atx motherboard.

The lian li is a nice looking case and should provide ample cooling.

I have this case in black. Its bigger than the others thats the only reason i bought as i was on a budget and needed a big case.

Lian Li make some damn nice cases

but seing as you want somthing easy to work with, and asmuch as i will get shot down for saying this :p

have a look for the thermaltake tsunami dream

very easy to build in, has hard drive silencer gromets, has 2x120mm fans, and is just a great starter case, it was my first proper case, and it lead me into exploring others, its a good place to start, and i recon that probably costs about the same :)

Hey, bear in mind I won't be overclocking...

Do you sternly disagree with mATX cases using Q6600?

And whats uATX in comparison?

Erm, i dont stongly disagree, i just personally prefer alot of breathing space.. And tbh, your better off with a full ATX board to get the most out of your components, however you the choice is all up to you, im not 100% sure the card would fit, which case do you have in mind?

Yeh should be fine i think, look into its internal dimensions, just to make sure it'll take the card length.

Thanks man.

Now just need to confirm a Mobo.. I was initially gonna go with the Gig DS2R, but people are saying the Asus P5K is better.. and cheaper.

Any opinions?

Well, i have a gigabyte and ive heard that board is pretty solid for clocking. I dont know much on asus as ive really only ever has gigabyte. Ide say go for it. But if the P5K is cheaper and someone backs it up, get that.
