Case Lighting

Looking for a white LED strip to put in my case.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Seen some Silverstone, Bitfenix and some other ones but they all have varied pricing. Is it worth spending that few extra £££?

Also looking for suggestions on placement. I just want to light up the case a little so you can see everything a little better through the window, but don't want to go over the top. Will 1 strip be enough? Where's the best place to put it?

I can wholeheartedly recommend the NZXT lighting strips, they light the case well however they light in spots, if you want very even lighting i would say cold cathodes.

Another vote on the NZXT lights. Measure the length of where you want the lighting to decide what size to buy. The only complaint I have is the first light is too close to the bracket and without covering up will been seen. I just used a little black electrical tape and its invisible.

If you want a nice evenly spread out light i would recomend these: http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/premium-modding/alchemy-led-strips/

I'm using one of the white 300mm ones myself and i like it alot so far :)

Had a look at the NZXT ones and i'm not a big fan of the rear bracket. Would mean running a molex to the expansion slots and i can't see a way of doing this cleanly.

That does look good! Where exactly is the strip? lol

If you take the PCI bracket off you can easily hide the whole thing behind the motherboard tray by sticking some double sided foam tape on the back of it and attaching that to the mobo tray. Like I've done here :)

Its only like 3" x 2"at most so I don't think you'd have trouble hiding it :).

If you can be bothered to hide it it's a great product, but if you just want a pretty, plug and play its probably not what you want.

Ordered a Bitfenix white 30cm kit :)

Amazon offered a free Prime trial (which I swear I've done before), so should be delivered on Sunday!

Might be worth checking it out if anyone's thinking of ordering something.

The strip is in the top between the top fans and the left sidepanel where the window is.
I also made a little loop with zipties to make one led stick out lower so it could shine around the top fan housing:

The flat part is stuck with the 3M tape it comes with.

Hope this helps! :)

I got some Phobya ones at the weekend and they are good but the tape that comes with them is useless, so need to find a way or sticking them down better.

Also they are a little long so might have to order some shorter ones.
