Hey guys,

2 days ago i wanted to update my software, but it failed for some reason

instead of being stuck with the older version, I now have no zune software on my pc at all.

I tried the normal and full package on W7 and W8DP but still nothing.

I get this error:0x80004005

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944938?sd=zune

Sometimes it says sth about language packs aswell, I triend with eng and dutch version. I also tried before and after zInternational install

please someone help me out here

Are you using the complete package from here instead of the web installer?

Be sure to right-click and Run as Administrator.

Edit: Yes you did...missed that you said full package.

Edit2: Have you tried this?

I had the same install and uninstall issue (0x80004005). I resolved the issue by manually deleting the Zune firewall rules in the Windows Firewall and then performing uninstall/install. I am running Windows 7 (x64). I used the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security tool in Adminstrative Tools to delete all inbound and outbound firewall rules for Zune components. Hope this helps.

Edit 3: And if that doesn't work make sure your Windows Update Agent is latest

You tried my Edits 2 and 3 as well?

tried both, neighter worked now my full version nolonger works and the normal one gives me this:

I'd uninstall everything Zune. Remove those firewall entries in my Edit 2, reboot, and try the install again. Before install, you might want to disable the Windows Firewall and any Antivirus if you have it running.

revo finds nothing to do with zune in normal mode and a bunch of language packs and 2 time "zune" with search for everything on.

however, when i try to uninstal those zune thingies, it gives me the exact same error as when i'm trying to install

One other thing, do you have Microsoft Update enabled and not just Windows Update?

Windows Update -> Change Settings -> Check Microsoft Update

yes i have, however, one update. but thats the zune 4.8 one which fails tru there aswell =(

I'm just going to try plugging it in and see if that helps

edit: nope doesn't work eighter...

edit2: tried something called unzoone which was not recommended by zuneboards, still didn't work. tried installing with revo, made revo crash

edit3: guess uninstalling anything won't help, just booted without my hdd, same error.

this is really starting to anoy me so i'm going to leave it for today and go to bed.
