ive tried running Diskpart and cleaning it / deleting all partitions then letting windows install create its own partions but no joy

AHIC mode enabled in bios . its in the SATA3_0 port on my Gaz68x ud3p

im kinda at a loss and well s a expensive paper weight to have ><

i've had the exact same problem. i think i ended up removing all other drives, also external ones and tried like 3 bootable usb drives till it finally worked.

so, remove everything that's not needed, try different bootable drives and it should work

From the step where the screenshot is did you try the "new" button? Judging by the screen it looks like all the space on the ssd is unallocated. If you just press next I'm not sure if Windows creates a partition by itself.

So if you not already did, I would try to create a new primary partition. I read somewhere with a ssd you should leave some space unallocated. It supposedly helps durability.

Are you saying that you are stuck at the point in the screen shot?

If so you need to press New so that windows can create the partitions, then you can select the partition which is not labeled system reserve.

i click new and it just makes ONE partition doesn't make the 100mb system reserve partition it asks me to specify a size etc . so no i am not stuck at that point it gives the same error still once i have clicked new

Can you go into your existing Windows install, click start, type "Disk management", click "Create and format hard disk partitions" and then format and partition your drive in there?

Are you installing from USB or a disk?

If you're using a disk, try setting your Sata settings to IDE in the bios.
