I can't decide on what I want?! I am trying to get rid of my 5870 in change for a 6970 or a GTX 570, the reason being is in terms of DX10 performance they are identical and in terms of DX11 performance the 570 and the 6970 destroy the 5870. The reason I can't decide is that they both offer what I am looking for. I don't want to do 5870 Xfire because I do not like having to deal with the problems associated with dual GPUs, minor as they are I just don't, and my system will be quieter and cooler.
Here are some ups:
6970 ups:
AMD brand and will perform a bit better with my 965 and my crosshair formula III mobo. (I know my MOBO is a dinosaur but she has not failed me! and treated me well)
2gb RAM
570 ups:
PhysX (WHICH I LOVE! I don't care how few games use it)
Will perform slightly better in most games than the 6970 due to more Nvidia supported game
Runs cooler than the 6970
1.2gb RAM
So as you can see their are more ups for me on the 570 part but the trade off is that it lacks video memory and the fact it's not a Radeon GPU. They are both priced the same on newegg so price is no issue.
Also the brands I plan on going with for the 570 will be either EVGA or MSI, and for the 6970 will be ASUS or MSI. (If anyone can suggest great overclocking brands for AMD or Nvidia I am all ears)
