Hi all,

My brother is getting his Xmas bones and i'm building a pc for him and i would like to know can you overclock a Pentium G860 and what is the best you got out of the CPU?

Regards.

that's to bad,i have just looked up about the G2120 and they say it's almost like a i3 in the graphic department with a ASUS MOBO and can you overclock any G series CPU's?
can you tell me what you would change in this setup for more bang for my buck?

CPU: G2120
MOBO: Asus P8H61-M LX
RAM: Corsair value select , 4Gb x 2 kit , ddr3-1333 or XMS3 with heatsink , 4Gb x 2 kit ddr3-1600
HDD: Western Digital Green 500gb
PSU: Coolermaster eXtreme power 500w
GPU: Gigabyte GV-N620D3-1GL
Screen: Samsung s19A100N , 18.5" wide LED

Thanks for replying to my posts.

What's the pc going to be used for mate, I'm assuming this is going to be for some light gaming or something since you've looked up the graphics.

The only CPU's from intel are those with a K or an X at the end of them. All others have locked multipliers and can't be overclocked.

If you do want some light gaming at a budget then take a look at the AMD APU's. That's pretty much the cheapest way to have gaming graphics on a really tight budget.

The Phenom ii x4 has been on amazon for £70 for quite a while...
Would be a massive upgrade from that little dual core, and with one of these motherboards, you could have yourself a decent system :)
You would need a GPU to go with it though, but if you're not fussed about gaming, something like a £30 GT610 would do :)

Good luck with the build mate :)

Forgot about the APU's x.x
Disregard everything I said above, and go for a APU :)

The thing is my brother wants a pc that can stay with mine gaming ways and for business and go above that (my pc specs below) and i said to him get a intel lga1155 so that you can later upgrade to some massive power cpu (i5,i7 or something) and in the line-up of the specs i listed i have a nvidia GT620 that's good for now for graphic,i have some questions about the AMD i use a AMD but every one said to me intel per-core is almost double a AMD core head to head is it so?
and i have check the price of a good AMD CPU and it's the same as a i3 so i think it's better for me to stay with the intel and later just upgrade the CPU and GPU what do you guys think?

My PC Specs

MOBO: Biostar TF570 SLI A2
RAM: 4x1Gb
PSU: ISONIC 500W
GPU: nvidia 9600GT 1Gb
CPU: AMD athlon 64 x2 5200+ 2.7Ghz
