Can anyone help me fix some problems?

Ok, I built my first ever computer about 6 months ago (with loads of help from you guys on OC3D), and on the whole it's been fantastic and I really want to do it again. But there are two problems with my computer which I really want to get fixed, but being new to this I really have no idea where to start.

Problem 1:

I am using a PCI Wireless Network Card and I experience this weird problem when I am watching videos on the internet. Suddenly after watching going on YouTube for like 5 minutes after turning on my computer, the web browser will lock up and my mouse will freeze. The entire display and sound shudders and locks up, its like everything is in slow motion. The way to fix it is to disconnect from the wireless network and then reconnect. The second I disconnect all the shuddering stops, and then when I reconnect it is all fine again. Any ideas? Dead wireless card? Graphics card (GTX 570) too close to network card (1 slot away) and when I start watching videos it heats up causing the network card to lock up?

Problem 2:

When I sleep my computer and then wake it up again, sometimes (I'd say 40% of the time) it doesn't wake up again. All the lights come on my tower indicating it's on, but no lights on my keyboard (indicating no USB) and none on my display (no video). Apparently this has something to do with BIOS settings? But I don't know where to start. I've got an Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard with i5 2500K.

Thanks to anyone who replies, I just want to get this sorted.

#1 get a new wireless card or usb device. You could try and update the driver for the network card and see if that helps.

#2 you could turn of the sleep/hybernation mode. I turn of all those things on my pc's and i only use screensaver. If you wanna know how to turn it off, just let me know.

I use Netgear wireless WNA 3100 usb adapter without any delays or freeze when i watch youtube.Never had any problems with it.

Ok, I will try replacing my wireless card, or using another method. Is there any more permanent solution for the sleep problem? I was under the impression it just required a tweak in my BIOS settings, or is that wrong?

In your bios check that you have "Internal PLL Voltage" - Disabled, as this is known to cause sleep problems with ASUS boards.

with problem one, the best soltuion is to just get a wired network

problem two is a strange one, turn off sleep mode, and just turn your computer on/off when needed

i just leave mine on 24/7, but i spose that might be a bit hammering on the old 'leccy bill

I want to get a wired network, but due to my location (in the converted loft of my house) I can't get anything permanent. I was thinking homeplugs, but the wiring in my house is quite old and I'm not sure if it would be able to take it.

I will check the BIOS and see if it helps.

Thanks.

I'm using a pair of lenovo homeplugs, and the wiring in my house is pretty old, and they work perfectly.
