Call of Duty: Vanguard's technology will fix the series' storage issues

Just stop making so many damned weapons skins and player skins, and go back to an initial payment model instead of FTP. Does a model really need an entirely new model and skin for each skin made? They might not be doing it that way, but it sure feels like it.

It'll probably help reduce some of the hackers too.

Gamers are shockingly so vain these days that they feel the need to stand out and look good even if you are terrible at the game.

Cosmetic items seems to be a fantastic and easy way to keep revenue flowing now. Just look at Fortnite, World of warcraft shop, CS GO (knives selling for $500 real money), Destiny 2..

I used to cringe at some players who would sit in the main hub cities in World of warcraft for hours on end mounted to something they bought from the webstore to show off to people.

Its even ridiculous that in games like AC Valhalla, you can be wearing item X (realistic bear skin) and reskin it to look like some knight of the round table. Its all absurd to me.

50% of 250GB is still 125GB. And it's still way to much for a plain battle Royale.

It's currently 84GB tbf, been small for around a year now

85GB for Modern Warfare

100GB on Xbox and same for PC. (Warzone)
Black Ops on the other hand is 150GB
335GB for 3 games.
How big will Vanguard be?

Absolutely ridiculous is what it is.
I can sort of understand why though, all those different models, especially for warzone, lots and lots of different items to model and skin.

@ Warchild, little would surprise me these days. But that almost did.

This is for the install with just Warzone and not the CoD:MW stuff sorry (The folder gets named CoD:MW still even if its just Warzone), shoulda mentioned, forgot its all variable, I don't own any of the full games

Still quite large. Most people own the full game and don't get to have the option of Warzone only. It's possible it could be better this time. Also depends on what they are measuring against for storage space savings. Vanguard will be integrated into Warzone, which means that install is only going to vastly increase.

The real problem is that Warzone is the baseline for everything and we can't uninstall it. I'd prefer regular MP, but I still have to download the additional 80GB for nothing...
