Does anyone know how to move where firefox stores youtube videos? I have caching being done on RAM however i have noticed videos still being stored on my SSD. I have tried changing the parent directory however the videos are still being stored on my SSD.

You will have to move the paging file to another hard drive or SSD. You can do that by following the steps below:

1. Choose the 'System' option from the Control Panel menu.
2. Then 'Advanced System Settings' and on the 'Advanced' tab click on 'Settings' under the 'Performance' section.
3. Click on the 'Advanced' tab on the resulting window and there should be a section with the following heading: 'Virtual Memory.'
4. Click on the 'Change' option where you can change where the paging file is stored.
5. Make sure you click on 'Set' and then 'OK' to apply the changes.

If you haven't done the above, it should help :)

I have tried that it didn't work. I am not trying to get more space on the SSD I am trying to move where youtube buffers the videos.

isnt the maximum cache file size 2GB? i was running into the similar issue from
all the YT vids. looked into a hack for increase the cache size and croaked the
whole experiment. tested moving the cache to my RAM drive which was kinda
cool, but wasted as remote cache setup (still @ 2GB) was not as fast but
page reload wasn't a concern.

No I think the minimum cache file size is equal to the amount of RAM you have installed, by default anyway. You can change it though.

The amount of SSD space being used just depends on how many videos i have loading. I have 12gigs of ram in my system. I tried using a program called Spacesniffer the other night and loaded a video checked that space was being used, I then loaded the program. It shows you the filesizes of everything on your drive in a square grid bigger squares for bigger files, I then screenshot the program closed the YT video and reloaded the program and all files were exactly the same. It isn't a issue of permissions or hidden files. I'm really stumped here, I've looked up a way to find YouTube's stored videos on your hard drive because copying those files is a common way to download the YouTube video without any additional software however on my system there are no files there and nothing ending with the extension .flv
