Thanks

Maybe change to an MSI Z77a-G45.
Otherwise looks alright...

...dependent on the cooler?
The RAM may not fit under if it is a heatsink

Is the msi really better? and how is the coil whine on that mobo?
Its a h60, he is not going to overclock so it will do and he didnt want the stock cooler.

and thanks for the fast reply

MSI just seem to be the best all round motherboards for Z77. Not that there's anything especially wrong with the gigabyte - Just the MSIs seem to be incredibly reliable and well made.

I'd advise overclocking...
With Ivybridge you can get up to about 4.2ghz without adjusting voltages at all, or experiencing any substancial increase in temperatures.

I've not heard of any issues with coil whine on any Z77 motherboard

As James said I to would recommend the G45, I would also recommend you switch to Western Digital for the hard drive. Personally I have never had anything bad from Seagate but wd seem to be slightly more reliable. Maybe go for a 2tb WD Caviar Green and then get a Crucial M4 128GB SSD?

The only reasen i didn't choose a wd drive was the price for the speed, and no ssd for now but he will probably upgrade later on and get a ssd.
But thanks for the advise

change the h60 to an air cooler or an h100, the h60 gets outperformed by air heatsinks that are much cheaper.
