Okay, so im building a new computer couse my old one lacks preformence.

Kinda low budget.

Im not overclicking, just gaming and frapsing alot.

Should i use 64bit or 32bit? (games cant use over 3.25-3.33 gig mem anyhow?)

Corrently thinking of setup:

Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus (Sure about this one)

Asus Sabertooth x58 (Sure about this one)

Nvidia 285 GTX (From my old computer couse of lack of budget)

Unsure about mems.

Intels 950 or the intel 960? there in the same pricerange.

SSD Corsair Performance 3 Series P3-64 64GB (unsure about this one)

64BIT deffo

Memory look at the Mushkin silverline if budget is low

Also if budget is low and you are not overclocking just get the cheapest 1366 CPU you can get your hands on. Without overclocking theres not much point paying more for a better one.

SSD wise if its just a gaming rig its a bit of a waste, spend the money elese where and just get a 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 or something.

I'd recommend 64bit. Just to be on the safe side and make sure your computer has scalability. Even if you have money for 3GB/4GB of ram now having 64bit will enable you to seamlessly increase the amount of ram in you rig without having to change from 32bit to 64bit.

I would also recommend not bothering with an SSD if you are on a limited budget, you could use the money for better things, such as picking up a 6GB mushkin ram kit or maybe saving up a bit and using the rest of the money to upgrade that gpu.

BTW make sure you also get a good psu, don't go for cheap no-brand psus. A psu is the most important part of the rig and should have 1st priority.

go sb?, I have to admit, im a bit noob in the area, and im buying my parts within a company, so im getting it cheaper, also, the diffrence with the intel 950 and the 960 is about 1.5 dollars, so is the 960 just 2% better then the 950 im going for the 960

Mushkin is alsmost impossible for me to get here in sweden, im having eez to find memes of corsair and adata, but i dunno.

It could be in the future i am going to overclock also..

EDIT: Budget itself aint low, but the budget im putting on the cokmputer im trying to be minimized, still can afford something

SB stands for Sandy Bridge, the recent i5-2500 / i7-2600 processors, you might of heard about it.

Corsair memory is also very good. As for the 950 vs the 960, both are pretty similar I suppose go with the 960 if it's just 1.5 dollar difference.

ahh, ye, Na, i think ill go with the 960 then

also, for the memories, what caorsair to buy, i want a low CL, but it seems like corsairs lowest is 7-8-7-20

I would have thought for a low budget, gaming, non-overclocking PC, Sandy Bridge would be just right :S

However, tom's advice is probably better than mine lol

Okay by searching around on the internet i came across the tripple channel and the dual channel diffrences, now my question is, Bloomfield? what is that? is that like the mark of all 950/960/9xx or is there for exaplme 2 diffrent Intels 960? one intel 960 and one intel 960 bloomfield?

If someone could give me a detiald info with the tripple channel and the "bloomfield" i would be really glad, i know theres hate agaist a noob like myself, but i really wanna learn..

My concern is that where i buy the hardware for my computer, theres only one "Intel 960" is that one supporting the tripple channel thing?

EDIT: I will not go for sandy bridge..

That's the codename for most x58 i7s. Just means it's quad core and x58, 960 is Bloomfield whether it says in the name or not. No difference.

Heard some people have had problems with Corsairs builder series, if you could I'd get a tx650w or hx650w to be safe.

Think I read it on this forum that somebody had a problem or knew of people having problems, I'll see if I can find it for you.
