Build a computer

Hi there, I’m looking to build a computer, never built one before, looking for a high end one, will buy all equipment over clocked because I don’t know how to over clock, the only thing I have bought, is a Cooler Master silent Pro Gold 1200W power supply. Was thinking about getting a Cooler Master Haf X Case/RC-1000 Cosmos Black Case or Corsair Obsidian 650D and the H100 Corsair for a beginners water cool system, but Tiny Tim Logan likes the Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler, is this a better was to go?. As for the processor is it worth waiting for the Ivy Bridge which gives you PCI-E3.0 or go for the Z68 or X58 Chipset, if going for x58 was looking at the Asus Rampage III Black Edition, as it gets good reviews, but I’m just going by reviews, and I need lots of help in all departments. Or is it worth just buying a computer allready overclocked from a online shop.

Thanks for your help all.

Regards

Oz

Well, I think you posted this in the wrong section. As for what computer to buy, what is your budget?

never been on this site before, where is the best place to ask a question about a computer, will go up to £ 2,000 to start with, thanks oz

There is a section called "New Build Advice" in the Hardware and Software section

. By the way, Welcome to the Forums.

Welcome, And you don't need £2000 for a first build PC, Esp for gaming, You would be spending more around the £1400-1500 mark unless you're going for custom water cooling, But don't do that until you have built quite afew systems.

For your rig, perhaps good to Aria and look up one of their pre-overclocked bundles. Any of the i5 2500k systems will supplement your needs quite nicely.

http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Bundl...K+4.70GHz+Overclocked+Bundle+?productId=44083

This is a good starting point. Bolt on another 4GB of Mushkin Blackline RAM, Corsair 650D and an EVGA GTX570 HD and you easily get a rig up and running for under 1,000 pounds. And you can choose whether or not you want to add an another EVGA GTX570 HD for some SLI goodness.
