BSOD

1h ago i had a bsod during BF3 play. I restarted and the picture frooze when the w7 logg on screen came. This happend 3-4 times. I was pretty sure that it was the Corsair SSD that was broken, but after trying to install W7 on another hdd the same thing happens. Maybe it is the 4870x2 that is the issue? Almost all of the components are new and in my signature. If you got any suggestions what this might be, give me a tell. Il swop the 4870x2 with a 5870 and see if the problem is still there.

Before the it frooze completely i checked the temps. cpu 30 and 65 on the gpu.

Admin can close this now. I resolved the problem. BF3 did kill my 4870x2, so it will be RMA'd asap

BF3 burned out the 4870 x2? Wow......It's such a nice card too.

Was just my spare card. Havent used it alot because i bought two 5870's right after this one. Will try and RMA it and get some cash back. It was powerhungry so a replacement will be nice. Thinking about getting the 580 Soc from Gigabyte but maybe i should wait for new series to be released?

Using one 5870 now, and i get 50-60 fps in BF3 on medium/high settings.

What happened when the card died?

? bsod and loggon freeze.

That's very nice. Seems the 5870 is still managing its own weight in demanding games. 50FPS is very playable. I wouldn't mind using mid/high settings at all. Are you playing at 1080P?

Will be interesting to see how the 5870 fares in XFire with the maxed out gaming settings in BF3?
