Right heres the scenario.

I have an external Samsung SE-S224Q DVD Writer.

When i go to play some software titles i get a blue screen.

Heres the basics of what i get:

To protect your PC blah blah

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP 0x0000000DL

USBSTOR.SYS Error.

So ran every available Windows update, especially ones regarding the USB drivers in System32.

Ran every available update from Asus.

Checked in devicemanager the roothub ok.

Checked the Firmware of the DVD drive with Samsung.

Installed from Asus a Reg key change for USB.

( done in safe mode with uninstalling the drivers beforehand. )

Changed the cables connecting the device to the computer.

Played a full movie on the drive with no issues, played various albums on the drive with no issues. Viewed Photos ok too.

Removed the external drive installed a IDE drive and that plays the software ok.

So im at a loss as to what else i might try and require your help folks.
