I've only just recently started to read books at leisure. I'm 24 and only read 2 books cover to cover in my life!! (how sad is that!). Anyway, they were books by Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.

I've also just bought ian flemings diamonds are forever book of ebay. Brand new at £2.99 with free p&p. I love bond films and have been wondering what the books are like.

Are there any recommendations of what to get? What sort of stuff is everyone else into?

It's weird how i have found myself losing a couple of hours easy when i get into a book. Guessing thats how you tell if your enjoying it!!

Tom Clancy darn what's that book called again...

...

Ah, now I know: without remorse.

Ultimate hitchhikers guide to the galaxy if you are into word/grammar jokes and the british kind of dry humour.

I have probably 2000+ paper books and a couple of hundred MBs of Ebooks. I've read all the paper one's and lots of the Ebooks.

It's hard to recommend a good book to you as there are many great ones and it depends on your personal taste.

I would suggest going to your library and asking a librarian for some recommendations. Most are very helpful.

I hope you enjoy your Fleming, the bond books are pretty good.

i was looking at ebooks today, i just dont think i could sit at a screen for hours readying. Has anyone tried that sony electronic book thingy?

Ditto on the discworld series and ender's game.

If you want E-copies of either I can set you up. I can read Ebooks quite easily, for hours on end, but a lot of people can't seem to do it. I haven't used any Ebook readers, but I wouldn't mind a decent one. My phone has a few .PDFs on it, but that's more trouble than it's worth.

send us pm matey!

I just like to be laying in bed or on the sofa with a paper back and not something thats slowly cooking my kahooters.

Ahaha made me laugh... Only because I can relate so much.

I don't use a laptop often but I was at my girlfriends on the weekend and was catching up with the days postings on here when she was asleep and as I got closer and closer to finishing I got more and more uncomfortable. I was cooking and getting hotter by each post I read. It's like when ya bursting for the toilet and the closer you get to home and knowing you can finally go, the more and more you need to go until it seems you timed it just perfectly. If you stayed out a minute longer you would have had an accident.

Aaaaaaaaanyway yeah.... I think I left a bit of myself melted to her bed!! :o

I mean from the laptop? Roasted conkers....

ha ohh

Nah not really, just pretty bored, gonna go bed. My operating system is coming along nicely. Login system is quite hard actually, no encryption though lol.

Never tried one of those electronic book reader things, sound interesting to mod though :D.

My laptop lives on the bedside table or on a tray on my lap as my lappy can almost boil water when I push it.

I had an all day, all night gaming sesh last year and was finally forced to get some sleep when it auto shut down after reaching 90oC.

OOPS!

Never really had any problems with temps, I got a cooler which separates it rather than cool it, waste of £20.

I don't know if you like horror Nathan but I read anything by Dean Koontz religiously. I like early Stephen King ( Cujo, It etc), but found his later stuff....predictable. If you get the opportunity to read any Koontz stuff I can highly recommend Watchers, Twilight Eyes and Odd Thomas.

If horror isn't your thing then I'd recommend the Bourne Trilogy by Robert Ludlum or even Bryce Courtenay is quite good (Cry Freedom or The Power of One)

Orwell 1984 - classic.

Marching Powder is pretty good - English guy who gets imprisoned in a Bolivian prison for dope smuggling (iirc)

Million Little Pieces - just gripping...

Just started Dice Man the other day...

Diceman is a great book. If you like it, you might want to read the wasp factory. Mabey not right after as they deal with similar issues, but it's one to keep in mind.
