Bodybuilding/Powerlifting

Cardio should be done on a daily basis, It helps with the repairing of muscle fibers, I wont go into the science just know that it works.

And all these myths about cardio burning muscle is complete BS, For cardio to burn muscle you need to be doing at least 4 hours a day on an empty stomach with a really crap diet.

I do 40 minutes every day and have done for the past 5 years and not to blow my own trumpet but I'm spartanic compared to a lot of the people I know who have lifted for years and do nearly zero amount of cardio.

Cardio helps in so many ways, It's very very under utilized.

I know it helps, I was just focusing more on weight lifting, was throwing cardio on the side, I'll be trying to get about 4 weight lifting days and 2 days of cardio a week, not much but better than nothing, atleast I keep my cardiovascular system active.

I do HIIT every other day now were I used to do it eveyday. Doing it everyday became a struggle in trying to beat my previous times.

I really want to be able to do this, I too used to think it was all power somehow through the hands, anybody here able to do it?

Didn't know Zuzka could do it, she literally is perfect now.

Been trying to do that for years now, I'm bored of slamming my back on the floor, so until I find someone who can do it properly and teach me, I aint even gonna try it anymore, marble floor hurts like a bitch.

On a side note, I have a question. So I'm being extremely tired due to work, Averaging 60 hours a week, working all week (no this is not the question). I've upped my calories quite a bit, easily between 3k and 4k, obviously gained some fat, maybe a kilo or so and reduced training (due to time and being tired) from none to 3 times a week and I've never felt bigger in my life. Still not as cut as I used to, but arms are way fuller, chest is popping out and legs are much fuller, don't think that a kilo in fat can make you feel like that, its a negligible amount over 75kgs, and it feels weird combined with the reduced weight training.

Haha thats what I'm scared of doing, or at least making it into the squat position but your bum being so close to the floor, banging my arse.

used to try it with a cushion under my back, first hit wasn't that bad, after the 4th or 5th you'll start to feel the pain though, for those who have parquet flooring shouldnt be that bad though.

I'll give it another go, I did try with a cushion but it felt like it was in the way, you must need real strong core strength to do it. I'd say I'm to heavy but WWE superstars can do it and they'll be heavier than me. I just feel to heavy though.

When I try it, apart from feeling heavy, I can kick my legs up pretty hard but I feel like my hands are useless, I can't push hard enough off the floor.

I don't think hands are supposed to do much, I think its just a huge amount of core strength to force through your legs. She also arches her back a lot too, she's probably really flexible combined with her core its easy for her.

Edit: So with the Mr. Olympia back next month what are the predictions for this year? I'm still praying for Kai Greene even more so now because Phil Heath seems cocky whenever its brought up on Twitter? I need to have another look but Big Ramy is also looking great, could he be a top contender this year?

Just found this thread, LOL. I competed in powerlifting for 30 odd years. My best official lifts Squat:850, Bench 605, Deadlift:700. Unnofficial lifts Squat:900, Bench 765, Deadlift :720. Also competed as an amature strongman for a few years. Those lifts were done in the 308 and superheavy weigh classes.

That's awesome, although I will never choose that route as I like looking like a spartan and I know from a lot of friends who do powerlifting the definition goes out the window ^_^

Lol the Spartan look. I like the f'in freak of nature look, unfortunately I don't have it. :D Mr. O look.

I've trained for 5 years now to get the Spartan Leonidas look and I'm keeping it, The freak of nature look doesn't appeal to me but each to their own :)
