Blue screen/pc reboot no idea whats going on (solved) pending

Today I decided to play some Resident evil revelations I got upto the menu and when I clicked start I got weird blue screen with lines thru it than the pc rebooted.

Thinking it was that game I tried skyrim go all the way up to the loading screen than it went blank and I had to reboot it.

So thought it could be a steam issue.

went onto google maps to get directions than I got the blue screen with the sad face and the pc rebooted.

Im using it now to type this so far its working but I know for a fact if i was to run a game it would do the same thing.

this has just started today in the last 20mins

I3 haswell
12gb of ram (1x4 stick and 1x8gb)
40gb ssd
7870
silverstone sfx450 gold rated psu
widows 8.1 pro

crosiar 1600mhz

solved the issue it was my gpu ...either amd drivers being a *####* or the cards on its way out...the c is running fine on hd graphics and games are running with no issue

What make 7870 and what case do you have? Judging by the PSu I'm guessing its the RVz01? In which case unless its a reference 7870 it might be getting toasty.

its a saphire duel x (one with the blue band on the housing)
case is now a matx with 2 front 120mm fans and side venting ..I was checking the temps of the gpu and when playing a game it rarely hit 50c mark..and idle it was 31c..
